Cycling
10 cycling paths spread over 500 kilometers! The Lake Neusiedl World Heritage Region is a paradise for cyclists. Not many other regions in Austria offer such a perfect infrastructure for this pastime: a fully developed and well signposted network of cycling paths, cyclist-friendly accommodation, wine taverns and restaurants, as well as routes from the villages of Mörbisch, Illmitz, Podersdorf, Breitenbrunn or Rust turn every tour into pure pleasure. Jois is the perfect location for cyclists of all levels. Jois is also at the junction of the paths ‘B10-Lake Neusiedl-Path’ and the ‘B12-Cherry Blossom-Path’.

Bike Trail B12 - Cherry Blossom Path
Over hills, past vineyards and alongside cherry trees
The ‘B12 Cherry Blossom Path’ runs along the foothills of the Leitha Mountains through spectacular countryside. This route, rather demanding for Pannonian standards, offers fantastic views around Lake Neusiedl right to the Hungarian Plains to all ambitious cyclists. Numerous information signs tell you about special cultural or regional features along this 43km long trail. The path leads you past vineyards and thousands of cherry trees which, depending on the weather, but most commonly in mid-April, transform the whole region into one great sea of blossoms, making the tour unforgettable.
Length & Trail Information: 43 kilometers, short, steep climbs, connection to the B10. Short cuts possible in Winden, Breitenbrunn or Purbach.

Bike Trail - B10 Lake Neusiedl Path
Around the Lake - really!
If you don’t turn pale at the 135 kilometers and you take your passport with you, you too can tell a tale at the end of this tour - to have ‘conquered’ the biggest steppe lake in Central Europe. The fabulous Lake Neusiedl Trail is among the most family-friendly of its kind: it is flat almost the whole way and well developed. Visitors who have done this tour come back time and again. They love the unique, yet for this region typical, interplay between nature and culture. With a few exceptions, the trail is asphalted with many route variations on offer. Both border checkpoints Pamhagen/Fertöd and Mörbisch/Fertörákos offer "borderless” cycling enjoyment.
Length & Trail Information: 135 kilometers, of which 38 km are on the Hungarian side; minimal climbs between Mörbisch and Oggau, specially suitable for families. Shorter variations by taking the cycling ferry from Mörbisch to Illmitz, from Rust to Podersdorf, from Breitenbrunn to Podersdorf and back are well liked by our visitors.
